Kerala Public service commission is the responsible body for conducting written tests, interviews, and physical efficiency tests for all the vacancies in the government departments. Created by constitution of India, the commission gives advice to the government on all matters relating to civil services. Functioning under Article 320(3) of the Constitution, it collects applications and supervises all the tests to prepare the final rank list of merit of the students.
How does KPSC advise the appointments for governmental posts?
The departments functioning under the government of Kerala forwards their requirements for manpower to Kerala public service commission. The commission conducts all the tests related to the appointments in the posts.
KPSC gives advises on the following matters to the government of Kerala;
- As it has authority to conduct examinations and finalize the rank list of candidates based on merit, its advice on the recruitment is final.
- It advises on all the disciplinary matters about the methods of recruitments for appointments in civil services and civil posts.
- It also acts on all disciplinary matters for a person serving in the government department in civil capacity and accepts memorials and petitions about such matters.
